THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB

Today’s Lesson
Prayer Point - Class should pray for the grace not to miss the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
Previous Knowledge - Students should answer the following questions to review last week's lesson. (i) Why should the rapture take place? (ii) Who will be raptured? Teacher should mark the workbook.

1. Opening
A. BIBLE PASSAGE - Revelation 19:1-14.
B. Memory Verse – “…Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God.  Revelation 19:9b

C. Lesson Introduction - Marriage, in this context, symbolises the union between Christ and the Church - Eph.5:22-32. It is, however, important to note that the second coming of Christ is the next event after the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. May the Holy Spirit teach us and bless us richly as we look at this topic in details. Oan.7:13; 1 Tim.6:14; Acts 1:10-11.

A. Lesson Aim - To study the significance of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb to Christians.

B.Teaching Objectives and Lesson Plan

i. At the end of the lesson, students should be able to explain the nature of the Marriage Supper.
ii. They should also be able to explain the importance and the conditions for the marriage supper. To achieve these objectives, teacher should explain the nature, the importance and the qualifications for the marriage supper. To conclude, teacher encourages students to prepare for the event.

C. Text Review-Revelation 19:1-14
The herald of thundering and sounding voice as of great multitude of water and the shouting of Alleluia will fill the sky before the great announcement. "Be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him, for the marriage of the lamb". V. 7 What a joyful day when the true brides in white linen of holiness and righteousness will be presented to Jesus in divine and holy matrimony. Verse 7-9.        

D. Teaching Method - Teacher should use lecture teaching method.

E. Time Management - 15 minutes for Opening; 30 minutes for Lesson Outline, Summary, Conclusion and Assignment, 15 minutes for General Review.

2. Lesson Outlines
i. LESSON OUTLINE 1 - WHAT, WHEN AND WHERE IS THE MARRIAGE?
i. "What?" The Marriage Supper of the Lamb means unions between Christ the Bridegroom and the bride, the spotless Church. Eph. 5:27a, Rev. 19:1-14; Matt. 22:1-14; Matt 25:1-13
ii. "When?" It will take place before the second coming of Christ to the earth. Rev 19:1-21
iii. "Where?" It will take place in the New Jerusalem. Revelation 2: 9-10; Revelation 21:2.
ii. LESSON OUTLINE 2 - ITS IMPORTANCE
i. To assemble the saints for the last supper with Christ.
ii. To present the just of all ages to God the Father and fulfil their main eternal purpose.
iii. To wipe away tears from the faces of the saints.
iv. To take away the saints from the earth before the activities of the anti-Christ begins.

v. To take away the saints before the tribulation.

Class Activity- Class members should imagine and describe the marriage supper.
iii. LESSON OUTLINE 3 - WHO QUALIFIES FOR THE MARRIAGE?
i. Those that belong to Christ- 2 Cor., 5:17
ii. Those who earnestly desire His second coming and are watching Matt. 25:13
iii. Those who are patient and whose visions are not darkened.

iv. Those who keep their focus on Jesus.

v. Those that are clean and not polluted and who have not stained their garments.

vi. Those that put on their garments of righteousness. vii. Those who obey the Lord's commandments.
viii. Those who maintain their Heavenly citizenry.

Class Activity 2 - Students should contrast between the earthly marriages and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
Teacher should fix the scriptures to the above points.
2 Cor. 5:17; Matt 25:1-13; Matt 21:10-14; Rev. 21:8-27; Heb. 12:14; Revelation 22: 14-15; Ephesians 2:16; Matt7: 21-23.

Summary: Now that we have discovered the qualifications and other vital information about the marriage supper, we should prayerfully enlist for the ceremony.

Conclusion: The Marriage Supper of the Lamb is the greatest marriage ceremony, Be prepared to be part of it.
